The Four Little Pigs is now Available at Academy Video

"The Four Little Pigs" is a retelling of the classic children's story with a new twist: a fourth pig. Writer/Producer Meg Wildrick explains, "Our goal was two-fold: to produce a program that speaks to modern children and that models positive behavior. Each pig in the story has a challenge to overcome. The story helps children understand that -- while nobody is perfect -- determination and generosity are more powerful in the end than cowardice and bullying."

Film reviewer, Joe Meyers, calls the film "charming, beautifully shot and acted," with "chatchy music" and "good lessons about trust and looking beyond surface differences (which) are nearly hidden under good storytelling and imaginative design."

The film is more than just a traditional remake. The story helps modern children address issues of difference and fear. And, the film has already received a Telly Award in the competitive children's audience category. The lively and appealing sound track is preformed by songwriter Amy Rogell and orchestrated by Steve Hansen of Hi-Top Productions. Trent Dawson who currently plays the mischievous Henry on the daytime soap "As The World Turns," is the films narrator and adds humor to the production as the father in the story.

"The Four Little Pigs," is the first children's film in what will be a series of revisited fairytales. Next up is retelling of "The Frog Prince" renamed "The Princess and the Frog." The "Four Little Pigs" can be purchase at on line and at videostores including Academy Video (203) 629-3260 in Greenwich.
